Growing up, I spent a lot of time boating on the Great Lakes, so one of the historic buildings that is near & dear to my heart is the Mackinac Island Yacht Club (MIYC).

Founded in 1924 by a group of sailing enthusiasts who shared a passion for racing on the waters of Lake Huron, the club has hosted many prestigious sailing events, including the annual Chicago to Mackinac Race, which is one of the oldest freshwater distance races in the world.
